The 2nd International Scientific Recreation Camp is a national event with foreign participation, featuring students and professors from the Nature and Tourism Project of the International School of Physical Education and Sports. This University trains professionals from 85 countries and different continents like Asia, Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean.

The Science Camp is an interdisciplinary meeting to exchange experiences related to the environment, which is held every two years in a camping site located in the North Coast of Mayabeque Province, Cuba.
In its first edition in 2011, representatives of 16 countries, different universities and research institutes participate. The event was developed through conferences, workshops and Scientific Recreational Activities, chaired by renowned specialists. The traditional Pirate Night was also part of the event as an allegorical tradition of the area, of fine tasting seafood obtained by the group of underwater activities.
In January 2012 a pre-event was performed to socialize and define topics to be discussed at the upcoming event. This workshop was assisted by specialists from the Institute of Geophysics and Astronomy, Institute of Oceanology, University of Information Sciences (UCI), University of Science of Physical Culture and Sport (UCCFD), representing 23 countries
In the upcoming Camp in January 2013 the promotion of sustainable development from the different areas of science will prevail as the central theme. This includes topics such as local community development projects, survival, rescue, First Aid, Green Map, Sports Tourism, Marketing and Media in Nature and Underwater. Additional recreational activities, includes the Photo Safari, Craft Workshop and the Pirate Night as well as other optional sports tourism activities like hiking, snorkeling, climbing, running will be organized.
So far specialists from the Institute of Meteorology, the Institute of Oceanology, the Institute of Geophysics and Astronomy, University of Information Sciences (UCI), University of Science of Physical Culture and Sport (UCCFD); different health science campuses and representatives 27 countries have confirmed their participation.
This is an event to enjoy, learn, share experiences, socialize and recreate safely in a friendly environment that make this event an unforgettable experience for all participants.
