UNESCO and UNICEF launch My World My SIDS

Applications are open from young people from small island developing states to participate in the 2013 SIDS youth networking: My World My SIDS.

Selected young people from the Pacific, Caribbean and Indian/Atlantic Ocean regions will have a chance to participate in the preparation process for the SIDS 2014 global meeting (www.sids2014.org) by presenting youth voices at the regional and inter-regional preparatory meetings held in 2013. 1st World Youth Sustainability Summit 2013

Young people are a key to find sustainable and common solutions to the problems – climate change, environmental degradation, social inequities…– we face today, youthinkgreen organises the 1st World Youth Sustainability Summit this May (10.-20.05.2013) in Berlin.

We are the future. Thus we shall ask ourselves how we want to live in this future and how we want to create it!

Our current ways of living pose problems for our future. We know that we have to rethink and change them. Besides, as young people from all over the world, you have different perspectives to offer which, brought together, can spring concrete solution models.

Which lifestyle do I support for today – tomorrow – the future? How can the individual live? In which aspects are politics, economy and civil society responsible for the organisation of a humane life? Doesn’t the wish for a future socially and ecologically secured belong to the catalogue of human rights?

Coming from all around the world, experts, representatives of sustainable ways of living and young people will come together to draft a common position paper on the topic “Youth and Sustainability in Everyday Life – Challenge, Reflect on and Develop New Global Ways of Living” .

You want your voice to be heard, come and join the Summit and movement.

Be part of it!
